Training Burn - Live Fire
Notification of Live Fire Training Burn – June 24th, 26th , and 27th 2026
Dear Neighbor, We are writing to inform you of a scheduled live fire training exercise that will be conducted by the Sonoma Valley Fire District on June 24th, from 8am to approximately 4pm, June 26th, from 8am to approximately 5pm and June 27th , 2026 from 8am until 4pm. This important training will involve the controlled ignition and suppression of grassland vegetation and will take place at: 810 W. Agua Caliente Road This exercise is a critical component of our training program and is designed to ensure that our personnel, including our dedicated volunteers, are well-prepared for real-world fire scenarios. The training will take place over three sessions: • Wednesday June 24th – Live fire mobile attack training for our suppression crews. • Friday June 26th – Live fire mobile attack training for our suppression crews • Saturday June 27th – Live fire mobile attack training for our suppression crews All ignitions will be performed by qualified fire personnel, and suppression crews will be onsite from the beginning of operations through the conclusion of each training session to ensure full control and safety at all times. Ignition operations may be delayed or postponed due to extreme conditions on the scheduled day, We understand that the presence of fire activity in the area may be concerning, and we are committed to conducting this training in the safest and most professional manner possible.
