11/6/25 530pm-7pm
The City of Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley Fire District invite the public to attend a Joint Community Meeting to discuss the ongoing update of the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP).
This countywide plan identifies natural hazards such as wildfire, flooding, earthquakes, and severe weather, and outlines strategies to reduce risk and strengthen community resilience. Updating the plan is essential for ensuring coordinated preparedness efforts across all jurisdictions and for maintaining eligibility for state and federal hazard mitigation funding.
At this meeting, residents and stakeholders will:
- Learn about the progress of the MJHMP update.
- Review identified hazards and proposed mitigation strategies.
Your participation is vital. By engaging in this process, community members help shape the strategies that will guide Sonoma County’s long-term resilience and disaster preparedness.
